Our Exchange Home

We're really lucky to find this beautiful home to stay in while here in Ajijic. It is quite large and has a beautiful garden area. We also have a maid Carina who cleans three times a week and the gardener Simon is here every day for an hour or so. He takes care of the pool and grounds and Carina will do anything, laundry, cooking or just basic housework. It's hard for me to get used to all the attention!
The house has a magnificent newly renovated huge kitchen, two outdoor eating areas plus two second floor miradors- patios. We are always able to find sun or shade. There is also a beautiful fountain in the front yard with koi that I feed every morning.
The main bathroom is fabulous and has a georgeous entry door that I have to show you!
Our new best friend Kai (rhymes with eye) follows us everywhere we go. We take him for walks each evening but we really don't need to because the dog walker takes him out every morning for an hour or so. There are also two outdoor cats Cenisa and Sweet Boy. Cenisa is very loving and Sweet Boy completely ignores us. You can guess who Gail favors!
Every night we go to sleep listening to the crickets and bullfrogs on the lake- just a short block away. In the morning we wake up to a symphony of birds plus the neighbourhood rooster who I am going to take an axe to soon!!
All in all it is a very relaxing holiday and we are having fun.
You should be able to click on the photos for larger images. Enjoy!

Hi Karen,
Good to chat this morning. We are now back from the Maui Flea Market... very warm outside so Sandy & I are about to head to the beach for a swim.
We really enjoyed your Blog entries. You certainly are staying in a great place!!
More later from us.
Bye for now.
HI Karin,
This looks like a beautiful home. I would love to be there rather than rainy old Nova Scotia!
Maureen said I should check out your blog, so here I am at almost 2am. I'm a bit of an insomniac, so sitting up this hour of the night isn't uncommon.
You have some beautiful pics of the places you and Gail have been. Someday, I'd like to travel extensively, and be able to visit many of the places I've dreamed of.
You and Gail must have a wonderful time together on your travels. It's great to have such a close friendship.
Take care,
Tammie
